I have known Linsey forever. I took her senior portraits back in the day, so in some ways she was my first “client.” While I had to give up my camera to be her maid-of-honor, I jumped at the chance to capture her latest milestone – her first child. Though not as life changing, this shoot was a bit of a milestone for me too – trying out new lighting and poses. I really tried to incorporate Jason into the shots and even make him the focus. Too often, I feel, maternity sessions gloss over the father. I am really proud of this session – I feel like it captured the “family” that is already here and the love they have for each other. Enjoy!
I would not say that I am amazing at culling images, but I am pretty darn good at it these days…well until this session. Baby Liam is at the super fun age of 5 months and when you combine his adorable expressions with those big beautiful eyes, I had a really hard time of deleting anything. Every time I think I have an image I don’t need that cute face of his would make me think otherwise. I worked right up to my two week mark in editing and trying to make a selection for this post almost killed me. However, I think (after a day of agonizing) I have managed to select a well rounded group of images to share with you.
Last week I got to shoot the grand opening of Kiehl’s at Dillard’s in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Woowee was it fun! The ladies at the counter were offering facials and hand massages. Rick’s bakery provided two amazing cakes and Harley Davidson had a GORGEOUS red bike displayed at the end of the red carpet. The highlight for me was meeting Chris Salgardo, the president of Kiehl’s, as well as Bill Dillard III! Here are a few of my favorite images from this eventful day.
The Santos family and I have been trying to meet up for a session since November 2012. We finally got together in February 2013 thanks to mom’s persistence! Many thanks to Kimberly for believing in my talent and willing to wait so long for me to photograph you and your family. It was wonderful to finally meet you all!
