Not All That Glitters Is Gold

This shoot was a collaboration between hair stylist Heather Fulbright and makeup artist/model Christina Grillo.  I have worked with these two very talented ladies in the past, so I was super excited to be able to work with them again.  Let me tell you, these two women did not disappoint!  The guidelines were simple:  big hair, gold, red, fabulous.  The result is a set of photos that contain 3 different looks,  all of which channel a  little bit of Vegas.  I am very excited to share these photos with everyone because I am quite proud of them.  I see growth in them and that makes me extremely excited about this year.

2012 Reflections 2013 Dreams

I entered 2012 with a goal to expand the business portion of SLTP and while it is always important to pay attention to the dollars and cents of ones business I am happy that 2012 ended with my focus on the artistry of what I do.  As I rolled in and out of my first week of 2013 I am thinking a lot about where I am at this moment with the photographs I am taking.  The best way to do this is to actually get up and do it, so I pealed off my pjs and into some work clothes, pulled out my equipment and props, stood in front of the camera, and had a photo session with, myself. The following selection is a stamp in time of where I am at this moment and as I edited my photos I asked myself, “What do you want to do when you grow up Shu?”  The answer, “I don’t want to just be a photographer, I want be an image maker.”  What does that mean?  Please check back often this year to find out.  I am very excited.  It’s time to grow.
